Marriage Coaching Can be Better Than Counseling
Most people incorrectly assume that the best way to fix their marital problems is to spend time with a marriage counselor. However, if you’ve know couples who have attended marriage counseling sessions, you probably already realize that it’s never a magic solution. Many couples didn’t even begin to fix their problems after signing up for marriage counseling. In face, I don’t know of any that didn’t end up getting divorced, and it’s enough to make me wonder why people continue to spend time and money consulting with them. Obviously a better solution is necessary, and that solution can be found by talking with a marriage coach.
By comparing the word coach to counselor, one should be able to see quite easily why the former can be the better idea. A counselor talks to you about your feelings. A lot of good that does. It’s just a waste of time and money to go to counseling sessions just to go over how both of you are feeling about the situation. You shouldn’t be forced to psychoanalyze yourself. You’ll find the answers that you’re looking for with a marriage coach. Hopefully, the advice that a coach shares with you will help you two get the spark back in your marriage. You should never give up on a marriage since it takes steady work throughout the course of the relationship. Your work will never be done.
Marriage counselors are people who will help you justify your need for a divorce. Their advice isn’t always geared towards the positive side of a relationship, and basically they’re defeated before they ever get started. Instead of trying to make your divorce less painful with a counselor, it’s much better to focus your efforts on saving the marriage. After understanding the differences between a counselor and a coach and you still want to attend counseling, then that’s entirely your decision. You and your partner would be much better off going to a coach if you really want to stay together.
A marriage coach will be beside you every step of the way giving you the guidance you need to make the decisions that will strengthen your relationship and address the issues that you are facing. You can get the support you will need to formulate constructive plans and then follow through on them. No one here will tell you, “Oh, you poor thing, no one should ever treat you this way.” You don’t need anything to pity yourself about.
