Are High NFL Fines Ruining the Game of Football?
According to the experts–and coincidentally, those being fined, the NFL fines are ruining the game. nfl statistics say that one out of every 10 NFL players are being fined and those fines are literally ruining the game. The fines, according to some, are wrong and should not be happening.
In just the last few months alone, Green Bay Packers linebacker Erik Walden was fined about 15K, while Chargers Linebacker Antwan Barnes was hit with a 25K fine. Recently Bernard Pollard got a very questionable flag that had many fans and colleagues up in arms.
He got the penalty for unnecessary roughness in the Jaguars Game. The fine, at least according to everyone who witnessed it, was truly not in order and Pollard is speaking out about the way that the NFL is handing the fines for players and how they are arrived at. To many, it seems that the fines are not in order and should be reviewed.
Pollard said that those who are calling the fines incorrectly should be fined themselves for making an incorrect call. This, they believe, would make the fines lower and the number less.
“They need to be fined as well,” Pollard said after being asked about the fine. “I don’t know how much they’re paid, but it needs to be applied to them.”
Pollard also said something that many other players are stating too. He said that he is not going to permit the fine to affect the way that he plays, although many players have. He said that the way in which he plays the game won’t be affected to that he can prevent future fines.
He says that he will be doing precisely what he has always done, which is another of the nfl statistics that holds true, as nearly every fined player has said the same. Nearly every player said precisely the same thing about their own fine.
