Best Grub House in Western Colorado is Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse – Places To Eat In Glenwood Springs

When we decided to alter our life and escape the hectic city life we began looking for our paradise. Residing on the California coast was enjoyable, but crowded regardless of what entertainment we picked to do. We had heard about Colorado and the big areas of openness, especially on the Western Slope with villages like Aspen and Vail that are smaller communities, but also popular cultural centers.
Landing the plane in into Grand Junction we ventured east on Interstate 70 to check out Aspen and Vail. It was late in the day when we drove into Glenwood Springs and decided this would be a great place to stop over and then decide on Aspen or Vail the next day. We elected to rest at the historic Hotel Colorado and after settling into our room we wanted to explore what Glenwood Springs had to offer. The concierge suggested some nice shops to visit, but when we inquired about fine dining he suggested it depends on the food you want to enjoy. Being in Colorado I wanted a nice steak, but my sweetie insisted on seafood like back home. I reminded her the nearest ocean was several miles away, so the seafood would never be ashigh quality as we could get back home, but she demanded. So his suggestions was a quaint dining establishment directly across the bridge called Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse where we could have the greatest variety of both.
After visiting several unique shops we found Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse and after a brief wait at the historic bar we sat down. As I skimmed the menu I saw the right meal for me, Colorado Elk Sirloin. Organically grilled elk sirloin sliced and served on sautéed portabella mushrooms, but I wasintrigued by the {fish|seafood|fresh catch| selections on the choices. I was even more impressed by their daily specials such as; Broiled Sea Scallops stuffed with Alaskan King Crab or Grilled Hawaiian Opa with Oriental Citrus Glaze. I had to ask about the freshness and quality since it was obvious the closest ocean was a long distance away. He told us they only deliver the finest ingredients and the fish is flown in daily six days a week. My wife choose the Sea Scallops and I have to say if you didn’t know you were in {the rocky mountains|Colorado|dry regions of the country| you would swear you just had dinner in a seafood restaurant on the coast.
Next day on the tour we decided on Aspen, and fell in love with the small pueblos from all over the Aspen Valley. In this valley we could ski in the winter, jeep in the summer, hike, bike and be by ourselves, or go to a play or concert almost any night. We found our paradise and knowing that no matter where we moved to in the area we were only a small distance away from the best seafood in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. Who would have thought that a fine dining establishment named Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse would facilitate us make one of the greatest decisions ever.
