Hidden Restaurant in Aspen Valley is Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse – Eat out In Glenwood Springs
Glenwood Springs Eats
At the point we decided to change our life and exit the rat race of city life we began seeking out our paradise. Residing on the California coast was fun, but crowded regardless of what activities we decided to do. We had heard about Colorado and the big areas of openness, especially on the Western Slope with villages like Aspen and Vail that are smaller communities, but also popular cultural centers.
Landing the plane in into Grand Junction we ventured east on Interstate 70 to check out Aspen and Vail. It was late in the day when we drove into Glenwood Springs and felt this would be a nice place to spend the night and then decide on Aspen or Vail the next day. We elected to rest at the old and quaint Hotel Colorado and once we were checked in we wanted to explore what Glenwood Springs had to offer. The receptionist suggested some quint shops to visit, but when we inquired about fine dining he said it depends on the food you wish to eat. Being in Colorado I wanted a nice steak, but my sweetie wanted seafood like back home. I explained to her the nearest ocean was too many miles away, so the seafood would never be asflavorful as we could get back home, but she held her foot down. So his recommendation was a small dining establishment right across the foot bridge called Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse where we could have the best selection for both.
Once we had finished visiting several unique shops we found Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse and after a brief amount of time at the historic bar we sat down. As I reviewed the menu I noticed the right meal for me, Colorado Elk Sirloin. All natural grilled elk sirloin shaved and served on sautéed portabella mushrooms, but I wassurprised by the {fish|seafood|fresh catch| selections on the choices. I was even more impressed by their daily offerings like; Broiled Sea Scallops stuffed with Alaskan King Crab or Grilled Hawaiian Opa with Oriental Citrus Glaze. I had to ask about the age and quality since it was certain the closest real water was far away. He explained they only use the best ingredients and the fish is flown in daily six days a week. My wife selected the Sea Scallops and I have to say if you didn’t know you were in {the rocky mountains|Colorado|dry regions of the country| you would insist you just had dinner in a seafood restaurant near the cost.
For our next days excursions we decided on Carbondale, and explored all the small burgs from all over the Aspen Valley. At This place we could snowshoe in the winter, jeep in the summer, hike, bike and be by ourselves, or go to a play or concert almost any night. We found our heaven and knowing that no matter where we moved to in the valley we were only a short trip away from the freshest seafood in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. Who would have imagined that a fine dining establishment named Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse would facilitate us make one of the greatest decisions of our life.
