Ping i20: The New Series of Golf Clubs
Hacker, duffer, recreational player or tournament star your skill level has little to do with the type of golf clubs that you purchase to use whenever you hit the links. When it comes time to purchase new clubs or replace individual clubs in your bag, make sure that you look for the clubs that fit your game best as it is today. Clubs are built for specific issues that golfers find in their games and so there are many different types of clubs based on your skill as a golfer. Nike Golf Clubs have grown under the endorsement of Tiger Woods and you continue to see the growth of Nike equipment on the professional tour as well as on the amateur tours and recreational courses all over the world. However, older more established companies like Ping continue to pump new and better golf clubs, like the new Ping i20 series, into the market and these clubs are great for rising players. Both manufacturers rely heavily on word of mouth advertising to sell their clubs and that word of mouth often comes from PGA professionals who man the thousands of private and municipal courses as club professionals.
Whatever type of clubs you choose, whether the Nike golf clubs or the new Ping i20, it all comes down to a personal choice. Golf clubs can make a difference in how well you play but your actual skill as a player has more to do with your score than your clubs will. A poor swing will not be improved by a higher priced set of clubs and a cheap set of clubs will not hold back the golfer that has great mechanics. Clubs are the tools of the golfer like wrenches are the tools of a mechanic and a great golfer can use less than perfect tools and still play magnificent golf.
The Ping i20 clubs offer custom fit as do Nike golf clubs and while custom fit golf clubs can lower your current scores you may be better spending your money on top flight instruction. A good professional will help you with the mechanics of your game and when appropriate will advise you on the best clubs for your particular situation. However, before then, it seems more a matter of locker room pride than actual functionality of the club. When the time comes to buy new golf clubs look for the best set you can afford that fits your game.
