Over the Counter Nike Golf Clubs
Hacker, duffer, recreational player or tournament star your skill level has little to do with the type of golf clubs that you purchase to use whenever you hit the links. Choosing your clubs often has more to do with the economics of golf and your ability to purchase than it does with your game. Different manufacturers make different types of clubs for varying skill levels and degrees of ability. Slight changes in loft, weighting and shaft material can make a huge difference in how a player approaches the game.
When you choose to purchase over the counter golf clubs, it is often best to choose clubs that are designed for the average player as opposed to more specialized sets. These clubs are often less expensive than other type and offer regular, recreational players good clubs at a fair price. NIke golf clubs and the newly released Ping i20 are examples of excellent over the counter clubs that provide a different approach to the game depending on the player. However, it is important to remember that name brand clubs do carry a higher than average price tag and in some cases for just a few dollars more you can have a set custom fitted to you and your style of play.
Nike Golf Clubs have grown under the endorsement of Tiger Woods and you continue to see the growth of Nike equipment on the professional tour as well as on the amateur tours and recreational courses all over the world. However, older more established companies like Ping continue to pump new and better golf clubs, like the new Ping i20 series, into the market and these clubs are great for rising players. Both manufacturers rely heavily on word of mouth advertising to sell their clubs and that word of mouth often comes from PGA professionals who man the thousands of private and municipal courses as club professionals.
Choosing to buy the Ping i20 or a set of custom fit Nike Golf Clubs is an individual decision. While clubs do make a difference in play today, the basic skills of the player will be the determining factor on how well the clubs actually perform. The cost of your clubs nor the name on the bag makes a good golfer. Clubs are the tools of the golfer like wrenches are the tools of a mechanic and a great golfer can use less than perfect tools and still play magnificent golf.
You can have any brand of golf clubs custom fitted for you today as long as you are willing to spend the money but you may wiser to spend money on better instruction than equipment. At the point that a professional tells you that your game needs a better set of clubs, then it would be wise to get a better set. Buying clubs should not be a matter of prestige but one of skill. As you become a better player, it may then be appropriate to purchase better golf clubs.
